Who we are
On Point for Business Limited is the data controller for your personal data and is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (registration number ZC245038). For any questions about your data, please contact us at stevie@onpointforbusiness.co.uk.
This notice applies to our clients and, for business clients, to their directors, shareholders, employees, subcontractors and others whose personal data we process when providing our services.
What data we collect
We collect the information you give us, such as your contact details, identity documents, financial and tax information. We also receive data from HMRC, Companies House, your previous accountant, banks and accounting software you give us access to, and our identity verification provider.
How and why we use it
We use your personal data to set up and manage our relationship with you, provide the services you’ve asked for, carry out identity and anti-money laundering checks, meet our professional obligations and comply with the law. We do this because it is necessary to perform our contract with you, to meet our legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in running our business. If you don’t provide the information we need, we may not be able to act for you.
Who we share it with
We share data with HMRC, Companies House and other authorities where required, our software and IT providers (including cloud-based systems and AI tools), our identity verification provider, subcontractors who help us provide our services, our insurers and our professional body, CIMA. We will only share data with others, such as your employer or spouse/partner, where you have authorised us to or the law requires it.
Where it is stored
Your data is stored on the systems we use, including cloud-based systems. Some of our providers may store data outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards required by law are in place.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as we act for you, plus 7 years, unless there is a legal reason to keep it longer.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to move it to another provider, and, where we rely on your consent, to withdraw it. To use any of these rights, contact us at stevie@onpointforbusiness.co.uk.
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
